Meet Lyn, our Chief Financial Officer at Connected Event Group! Having known Libbie and Juston for many years, Lyn first joined the team towards the end of 2021, coming out of retirement to assist with the post-COVID restructuring of the business.
Lyn is now an integral part of our management team, ensuring that our business strategies always link back to our financial and corporate goals.
As part of her role as CFO, Lyn provides the team with valuable financial reports which are then used to assist with future planning for the company. She also assists with the collection of payments from clients and with keeping track of our cash flow.
In addition to this, Lyn ensures that we are on top of all of our legislative requirements and conducts regular audits of all the transactions in and out of the business. This includes making sure that we are on top of our Super, ATO, BAS, and Payroll Tax contributions.
Alongside collecting and filing the day-to-day transactions within the business, Lyn further conducts profit analysis reports on all of our jobs and reviews our equipment profitability. These reports provide our Management Team with the resources they need to strategize and plan for the company's growth.
ABOUT LYN:
Lyn lives on an acreage property on the Mid North Coast with her husband and a menagerie of animals, including: a Boston Terrier, a cat, 2 chickens, 2 fish, 2 hares, a family of kangaroos, a lace monitor, turtles in their dam, and an abundance of various birds that call their property home.
Lyn thoroughly enjoys the farm/beach lifestyle and the tranquillity it offers. Outside of work, she keeps busy by ensuring their property is maintained and has daily walks on the beach, followed by regular yoga practice.
Lyn decided to become a qualified accountant to provide the best life she could for her daughter. While working full time, she studied at night to gain her Accounting qualifications, and is now a Fellow of Institute of Public Accountants, a registered BAS Agent, and a member of the National Tax Agents Association.
Lyn’s advice to anyone just starting out in the workforce:
Give it your all. People notice your performance every day, even if you don’t realise it. Every member of the team is what makes the business, and your work directly impacts whether the business succeeds or fails.
Why Lyn Loves working at CEG:
I enjoy the challenges that come with my role, the team's strong collaboration, customer focus, and awareness of AV trends, all of which contribute to the company's success. Juston's industry reputation, Libbie's business acumen, and Renae's guidance, combined with the cohesive team, make for a rewarding experience, and I'm thrilled to be a part of it.
