Maddie

Production Coordinator

One of our key operations team members, that many of our clients don’t get the pleasure of meeting, is our Production Coordinator, Maddie.

As many of you know, there is no such thing as a ‘typical work day’ when it comes to working in the events industry. Everyone does a little bit of everything and no two days are ever quite the same. While our tech crew are rushing between events pushing roadcases & reading prep lists, it’s up to the Operations team to keep everything & everyone on track behind the scenes so we can continue to provide our clients with the exceptional event experience we pride ourselves on.

One of our key operations team members, that many of our clients don’t get the pleasure of meeting, is our Production Coordinator, Maddie. Maddie is responsible for ensuring that all of our jobs are resourced correctly - for both crew and logistics - and therefore has to be across the nitty gritty of all of our events. It therefore goes without saying that Maddie has to have exceptional attention to detail (which she does) and a deep love of process.

Alongside making sure the crew is booked for your event, Maddie is in charge of all travel when it comes to interstate events. This includes booking accommodation, flights and vehicles for all team members.

Maddie also helps the team create event run sheets, coordinates any site inductions and collects, checks and organises any required client content (e.g. holding slides, videos, slide decks) and our sales team is forever thankful to have her by our side.

As you can see, despite not always being physically on-site at your event, Maddie is an integral team member in making sure that everything goes smoothly on the day.

Maddie has been with CEG for almost 5 years and has had a front-row seat to the growth and change of the business. She got her start in events after studying a Bachelor of Commerce where she majored in Event Management and over the past couple of years has been witness to the significant changes our industry has undergone with regards to the pandemic.

We sat down with Maddie and asked her a few quick questions:

  • What is your favourite part of your job? Getting to see so many different events come to life.
  • What advice would you give for someone looking to get started in the industry? Don't be afraid to ask a LOT of questions.
  • Fave event you've worked on? In the Bottle with Angelica Nohra - Virtual Wine Tasting.
  • What industry trends do you predict for the future? The continuation of virtual and hybrid events.
  • Fave restaurant: Kneading Ruby (Italian)
  • Fave place to travel: New Zealand
