Carat Couchella 2020

AV 24/7 worked with global brand experience agency MKTG and Dentsu Aegis Network media agency, Carat to produce a jaw-dropping, private, one-day Virtual Festival "Carat Couchella 2020" for their staff and clients. The festival featured a powerhouse of media partners and talent from across Australia and the world.

The Challenge

Set out to surprise and delight their guests with a full day of virtual entertainment, MKTG (partnered with Carat) tasked Digital Events to utilise our virtual streaming and production technology to deliver a seamless virtual event experience with the highest possible production value for their presenting partners, guests and sponsors.

The Solution

Using our reliable streaming technology, we were able to stream the live event in full HD to a global audience of up to 1500 attendees. With our software's intelligent adaptive bit-rate streaming technology we could ensure the best video quality and individual viewer experience possible. Using our customisable virtual event web-platform we created the CARAT branded registration portal, landing page and event streaming page. Opportunities for sponsorship integration included time-specific, updatable event-page banners and the incorporation of pre-recorded videos and stills.

To optimise audience engagement, we incorporated a number of features such as live social media integration, polling, chat and Q&A modules for questions to be sent directly to each presenter. Some additional technical features we developed included lower-third graphics, picture in picture and split screen. We managed 35 individual incoming calls across the various media partners we worked with. To accept all these incoming calls, we created "Virtual Green Rooms" where presenters and artists would be staged prior to going live, this enables time for audio, vision and internet speed optimisation testings to ensure segments were seamlessly delivered to the audience.

The Results

By leveraging our technology and expert team, MKTG and Carat were able to produce a unique virtual festival experience for their staff, clients and media partners to enjoy together, all while revitalising connection and optimism within the media industry during these difficult times.

The virtual festival ran for a total of 9 hours straight and involved 12 presenters from around the world including LA, London and multiple Australian states. Amongst these talented presenters and entertainers were celebrity chef Manu Feildel and his cooking segment, Osher the Love Guru, The Blocks - Matt and Elyse and a Nova Red Room hosted by popular radio DJ Fitzy featuring DJ Regard, and special guest Delta Goodrem.

Throughout the day a total of 1145 Viewers logged on, 349 viewer questions were submitted with 173 submissions approved and 4 poll questions were asked with 626 poll responses.
